Not sure what to say?

Almost a year since Larrys passing and I think often about the tremendous impact he and Marilyn have had on our community. I pray that Gods peace and comfort are daily with Marilyn and Michael. They are special people!

My Sincere condolences to you both. Peace be with you.

Marilyn and Michael,

We are in shock to learn of Larry's passing, and had no idea that he was so ill. Larry was an unbelievable mentor to Jim, helping and guiding in so many ways. That turned into a lifelong friendship that will always be cherished. Jim continually looked forward to the many lunches to discuss life, issues, and world and local events . May you be comforted to know how much he has meant to both of us. We cherish the memories.

Jim and Mel Hund

I enjoyed working with Larry as a Board Member through Michigan's One Room School House Association, MORSA. He was a fantastic treasurer and educator. Our condolences are sent to you and your son. I am glad I got to know him and considered him a friend. My husband also enjoyed getting to know Larry at the various meetings and conferences. As an educator, it was nice to talk to him about the teaching profession and interesting stories that we shared regarding writing and grammar....

Marilyn, we were so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. May wonderful memories and God's presence comfort you and Michael in the days ahead.

Larry's and his high school buddies Art Schubert and Red Johnson

Larry was one of my friends from our days at Traverse City Central High School. We both worked on the school newspaper (The Black and Gold)and the 1950 yearbook (The Pines)and we both ended up in the field of education at Michigan State University. I will miss our occasional exchanges through the years. My sympathy to Marilyn and son, Michael, for their loss.

It has been an honor to follow in Larry's footsteps, albeit several down the line, as superintendent for Barry ISD. His kindness, wisdom, and wit are an inspiration to me. Here is a man who left his mark on every life he touched. Let light perpetual shine upon him.

Larry's death is a terrible loss to all of us who had the privilege of his friendship, to Kalamazoo and to Education. He was an amazing man, a Sweet Guy, a good husband and father. I will miss him!
