Lawrence D Stoney, 86, formerly of Chicago, IL, and Westchester, IL passed away peacefully on January 18, 2019. Lawrence was born on July 1, 1932 in Chicago to the late Louis and Irene (nee Bannach) Stoney. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army from 1952 through 1954 and served an additional 8 years in the Army Reserve. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Bernice Fino. They were happily married for 32 years, until her passing in 1988. He worked at the family owned business, LS Service Station in Chicago, until his retirement in 1997. He was an enthusiast of professional sports, and a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs. He is survived by his children, Sharon Baseley (Robert) and Justin Stoney and his grandsons, Lawrence and Samuel Liss. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother. Lying-in-State at Divine Infant Church, Westchester, IL on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass 10:00 AM. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
