Not sure what to say?

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Adkins. If anyone could have lived forever, it would have been her. My fondest memories of AU include working with her at Pebble Hill. My sincere condolences to the family. Serlester Williams

Dr. Atkins taught me history spring quarter of my freshman year: 1967! She was an incredible professor; she was one of the best that I had at Auburn! I leaned later that we were both ADPis, which thrilled me. Years later, I was dressed in period costume conducting house tours in Selma, Alabama, and Dr. Atkins arrived at the gorgeous Victorian house where I was the hostess. She walked in, and said, "Hello, Martha Lee!" Many years later I became a professor! I bowed to try to remember my...

Thanks for the childhood days at Edgewood and the High School days at Shades Valley. You were a special person.

I grew up next door to Leah Marie. What wonderful memories of all those years! She will be missed.

Leah Marie was my mentor, coach, and friend. In 1957, she was invited by the Italian Water Ski Federation to coach the Italian Water Ski team. Since George could not get out of work for 6 weeks, she asked me to accompany her on the trip. And what a great experience it was. George evidently joined us. Traveling around Italy and other Europe countries, George would tell strangers that in The USA, men had two wives. We got a big kick out of the reactions. Leah was my big sister. I will miss her...

I was a student of Dr. Atkins at Samford in 1976. She was just an outstanding teacher of history. She was one of few college professors whose classes I truly looked forward to. Her lectures were unbelievably wonderful stories and I always felt I was actually in the story. May God bless Dr Atkins and her family.

I had the honor of being a student of Dr. Atkin's in 1977 @ Samford University. Her American History class was my favorite course during college. She was an excellent professor with a wonderful teaching style.I wish comfort and peace to her family and friends in her passing.

"Aunt Leah Marie" was kind, sweet, giving and joyful!!! She was a rock for the Jones family--and a dear friend. See you Leah Marie on the other side!! Charlie

Dear Brian: I was deeply saddened to learn of your mom´s passing. She was a true Renaissance woman, but I will never forget her kindness to me when I was a student at Auburn. She and your dad were always very encouraging. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
