When Lee C. Wilson phoned home from Iraq on July 1, he was in something of a celebratory mood. "If you are there listening to this phone, pick the phone up so I can wish you guys happy Canada Day," Wilson said into the answering machine at his parents' home. "Love you guys and I'll talk to you all later. Bye." Wilson, 30, a Canadian citizen from Chapel Hill, N.C., was killed by a roadside bomb Sept. 6 in Mosul. He was assigned to Fort Bliss and was in the middle of his fourth deployment. Wilson was born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Known to his family as Christian, he moved with his family to North Carolina in 1991, at the age of 13. His father, Lee Edward Wilson, said Christian was mostly a loner who relished outdoor activities, like fishing and hunting. "He used to take our dog and go cross-country skiing," he said. In April 2004, Wilson's unit was deployed to Fallujah to capture the city from Sunni insurgents. "Christian was a machine-gunner and, in a block-and-a-half, he went through 2,700 rounds of 50-calibre ammunition," Lee Wilson said. He also is survived by his mother, Penny.

Not sure what to say?

I miss you buddy. I'm sitting here with my 6 year old son right now. I wanted to show him a picture of you. You were a good friend and till this day I still think about you. Take care buddy. Take care. -Headhunter 9 Golf Out

Until Valhalla Brother!

Its took me years to be able to send this message. Moose is one if the finest people I have ever met. Our time together was brief but memorable. I miss him daily.

Bill

Thought about you today, how you made time to chat to my son about one PE teacher at highschool who you thought was cool. Your light still shines.

I find myself thinking about you more often lately. Every time I here Miranda Lambert's song "Over You" it reminds me of you. I miss our talks and more so those moments where no words were needed at all. I find myself talking to you some nights and wonder if you ever hear me. I've had quite a few people pass away since you've gone and though I loved them dearly/they will be missed none have had the same affect on me as you have. I hope some of them meet you up there. Maybe then they'll...

You are not forgoten my friend I will always keep in my heart and mind my brother

Thinking of you as always. Wondering if you realize just how much you're loved/missed each and every day but more so today. Happy Birthday Christian! Hope you're celebrating up there in heaven. Love/miss you with all my heart.
