Not sure what to say?

While assigned to the ACC Headquarters `92-`95 I was assigned to the DO Action Group. I was so impressed with his poise, demeanor, and gentle nature. He left a great personal and professional impact on me. Thank you for your faithful years of service General.

I flew with General Downer in the RF-4C when he was stationed at Ramstein and me at Zweibrucken. He was also my provisional wing commander at Incirlik during the war. He was the consummate officer, aviator, and leader.

My favorite memory of Lee is when he was in our debrief of the final mission in Proven Force/Desert Storm. He read us the memo from President Bush declaring Cessation of Hostilities. Then the party began. America has lost a true warrior and a good man.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Lee Downer.

I didn't know Lee very well but he was a classmate and I respect that. As far as I am concerned we were all the best and to lose any one of us is a great loss to our country and to our special relationship as a band of brothers

Susan,

Lee and I were classmates and good friends at USAFA. Over the years our careers crossed a number of times in the fighter community. He was a great officer and gentleman. He served our nation exceedingly well and will be missed. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
