Mr. Glasel was one of my favorite English teachers at UWL. I had the good fortune to encounter him a few times in Lacrosse after he retired and he never changed; always cheerful and interested in life and music. I was bandmates with Nancy and Mark and extend my deepest sympathy to you both and your families as you learn to live with this tremendous loss. He certainly had a life well lived! Prof. Glasel was my freshman English instructor in the 1962-63 academic year at La Crosse. I was determined to be a newspaper reporter, but I had been a perhaps even more than indifferent student up until then, and my mastery of grammar was nil. I probably earned C marks from Prof. Glasel in my two semesters, but at the end of the second one he pulled me aside to talk.
