Not sure what to say?

I miss Lee (the General). Always enjoyed talking with him at the gym about sports and sometimes politics.

I'm at Lee at the gym. I always enjoyed talking sports with him, and sharing our opposing political views. I attended a U of H basketball game with Lee, and always enjoyed our conversations at the gym. I will miss him.

Lee was the most unconventional teacher I’ve ever had and truly one of the best. He embodied a “go-getter” if I ever saw one and he inspired his students to grab hold of the world and change it, just as he changed each of us. I’ll always be grateful to have met Lee and to have been changed by his passion and spark. He took interest in our lives, our families and our dreams and propelled us forward with all his might. Rest easy. All my love.

Lee took up the goal of moving Houston's Pride parade from Sunday afternoons to Saturday evenings, and didn't stop until he had accomplished. I was honored when he asked me to join a small committee to advocate for a night parade. It was exciting to see the parade pulling out onto Westheimer for the first time at night. Already the lights on floats were beginning to glow. Whenever I see that glow every year, I always think of Lee. He gave us something so unique and so beautiful.

Rest in peace, Professor Harrington. Without your kind words of encouragement, I'm not sure I have the career I do now. You were a motivating factor and you gave me confidence and confirmation I had selected the right undergraduate major and career path. You will be missed deeply on the UH campus and beyond.

Dear Rick, Raymond and Frank,
Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your father. Our friendship goes back thirty five years when you were growing up in East Lansing. We stayed in touch regularly talking about sports and trying to keep up with your lives.
We will miss his energy and kindness.
Warmly,
David Kositchek and Paul Miszewski

Rest in Peace

Lee and I worked together very closely when he was President of GPC. He was a brave and tireless worker for gay rights. One of the most decent human beings I have encountered. He went out of his way to welcome women into the Caucus. He loved his three sons with complete acceptance and loved to share stories about them. I honor his life and tremendous contributions to justice. Rest in power, good man.

Thank you for your service, Professor Harrington. You were one of my Journalism at The University of Houston. I graduated in 2008 and I still remember you. Your love for us was palpable and you always talked highly about your kids. Thank you for being apart of our lives.
