Not sure what to say?

News of Dr. Nash's death has made its way to many of us Cascadians who studied under him, and we are very saddened to lose such a great mentor and teacher. I personally was a recipient of Dr. Nash's care outside of the classroom as well as inside. He has always been more than just a professor to me because of his personal touch and genuine love for me and many of my friends. He displayed for me a Christ-likeness that I will always admire and recall. Being around him made one want to do,...

Lee Nash lived with my fmily when he was a Sophomore/Junior at Coos River High School. I was in the first and second grades. He has seemed to be family, even though we saw very little of each other over the years. In the last few years, following our move to Newberg, we were able to visit often. He was a Cascdade man. I attended George Fox. A wonderful man, who leaves a big mark. I only wish we'd spent more time together
Bill Hopper.

I'm sorry we were not acquainted in our earlier years. I've enjoyed knowing Lee these later years. My mother and Lee's father were sister and brother. I never got around to playing golf with Lee, but hoped to. I give thanks for knowing my cousin Lee. He was quite a gentleman.

A tremendously quiet yet powerful individual...Lee was always a blessing everytime I spoke to him; a plateful of knowledge, God's messenger, as R & W said, we all hope to be with him soon(some sooner than others perhaps). His spirit continues in his remaining family...we've all been blessed.

Amen! to all of the above. I had the privilege of having Lee as a professor of history and British Literature. I graduated from Cascade in 1958, and returned to teach there when in 1963 Lee as Dean hired me. He was a fine mentor and colleague for several years. We enjoyed visiting them a few times and exchanged letters after Cascade closed. Keith and Myrt Ewing

Dr. Nash was a very enthusiastic quiet professor of History. He knew and loved the Lord. I took
Oregon History at Cascade College from
him and didn't appreciate his scope of knowledge on the subject until many years later.

Dr. Nash could have been called Barnabas, the encourager. That he was! Whether it was at Cascade as a student, or working at Western Evangelical Seminary as an administrater, or as General Superintdent, his kindly demeanor was always an encouragement.

After meeting Lee at a Tilikum Elderhostel in 1993, I've periodically hounded him about appearing here at Hillside Retirement Community, to no avail. What a loss to us all! Godspeed, Lee.

Lee was an inspiration--not only as a Christian leader, but also as a man of faith, integrity and quiet wisdom. He was a great encourager to me especially during two times of uncertainty in my life while on the faculty at George Fox College. Marj and I have always held him in high esteem.
