Not sure what to say?

Early this morning I received an email from Bonfire and thought I'd check out their website but I didn't see a photo of Lee on there. To my surprise, I had seen a Lee Starr Memorial for him on their site. I was really shocked to see my dear friend and fellow musician is gone. I'm sorry for your loss, what a great friend he was, I always enjoyed talking to him and visiting your home. We had so much fun. He may be gone, yet the memories will always live on and on! I wished I could have talked...

I was just thinking about Lee today and, after looking for him on the internet and finding this, am so saddened to hear of his recent passing just a few weeks earlier. Lee gave me my first job at Fox31 right out of college and started me off on a career in television that continues to support me and my family to this day. I can't imagine how my life might have turned out if Lee didn't generously give a 22-year-old kid with no experience the opportunity to prove himself. Wherever you are, I...

Laura, it is with enormous sadness that I learned of Lee's passing despite the great fight for life that he waged following his transplant surgery. I know that my own successful transplant surgery gave Lee great hope for a future in which he too could breathe easily once again. Please know that all of us who knew Lee held him in the highest regard. May you and the children be comforted by the knowledge that Lee is still with you in spirit and will remain with you in the years to come. Geoff...

Laura, Mary & Sam,
Laura, I was saddened to learn of the passing of your best friend & husband Lee, and to Mary & Sam, the loss of your special dad. Through this time of unspeakable sadness & tears, may you look forward to memories that you can hold close to your heart.
My deepest sympathy,
Kathleen Filipiak

In loving memory of Lee Bruce Starr,

I send you my heartfelt condolences as you endure the pain that comes with losing someone you love so very much. Know that he is always with you in your heart and in your precious memories. Keep your family close and know that he is now your angel shining down on all of you.

Lee was my first boss out of college at WUHF Channel 31 back in 1986. Throughout the years, I remember him as being the best supervisor that anyone could ever ask for. He was kind, and managed his people with respect. I have thought of him often over the years, and I'm sorry I did not reach out to say hey as the years went on. RIP Lee.

To the whole Starr family, my sincere and deepest condolences on his passing. I have many great memories of the fun times we had working at the original Channel 31 and as neighbors on Vassar St. From the great jam sessions, sporting events and many concerts, poker games and just hanging out. I am truly saddened. Jim Tomkin
