Leigh DuPre

the years go by. it seems like yesterday that leigh was here and we would be texting about this or that or maybe a phone call to set up lunch or get some information. the years are flying by. still, i miss my friend.

i mentioned leigh to a young public defender who made an appearance in my court last week. she was formerly a public defender in atlanta municipal court. we shared memories of judge dupree. i still miss my friend.

I am still missing my friend.

My family and I are blessed to have known Leigh for many years through Haygood UMC. Her kind, gracious, thoughtful, courageous presence was always apparent. She was an inspiration. She lived her life loving God and loving her neighbors.

Leigh was my loyal friend for 25 years. She was exceedingly poised, thoughtful and had a wicked sense of humor. We would meet for lunch on occasion at the Subway between our courthouses and we would catch up and laugh, laugh laugh. Leigh had a great laugh and when she would laugh, her eyes would crinkle up at the corners. A kind person with a kind face. So much fun to be around. Leigh was the very best of the best. May she rest in eternal peace. (We will see each other again, my friend.)
