I cherished the time I had getting to know Leigh. His sense of humor, wisdom, and care for those around him were a few of my favorite things about him. I only wish I had been able to know him longer!

Dear Family and Friends of Leigh - I got to know Leigh and Dot as a home care RN in 2008 - after Dot passed I encountered him at University Living where I work with Therapy Dogs as a volunteer. I have known Leigh a long time and especially these last 8 years at UL. He enjoyed the dogs that visited him and they all loved him. He was excellent at petting the dogs and they brought that nice smile out of him. There was so much love in his family. He had a special twinkle in his eyes when he spoke...

I have such fond memories of Leigh and even while in Florida kept in touch with him after the passing of his dear wife, Dottie. They both bring up so many joyous memories to my thought. Having known them both since there was just Doug, as a baby, and then even being in the room when the doctor called Dottie to let her know she was pregnant with Marc. It has been a wonderful journey together. They both will be missed by so many neighbors who are still around. Dear friends - carry on.

Leigh was a prince of a man, kind , warm natured and I will miss greatly our phone chats after we moved away from AA. From our first meeting at the 2003 Shaw Festival we shared interests in theatre, music, sport and laughed over our differing political views. A gentleman and a role model in how he cared for Dorothy, exerted himself to place her precious books, maps etc. after her death and dealt with all the physical limitations he endured as the years rolled on. He could still have been...

Leigh and Dottie were neighbors and dear friends on Middleton Dr in Ann Arbor, in the 1970s-1990s. Personally, I cherish time spent with Leigh at his Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club, and during Golfing trips to northern Michigan. Leigh could always be counted on to entertain our neighborhood group, at Civic Theatre plays, on trips to Chicago and Evanston for football weekends, and at many neighborhood parties. More recently I´ve enjoyed visits with Leigh at his room ,during Christmas Holidays,...

I have so many wonderful memories of your father and whenever I think of him, I cannot help but crack a smile! The running shorts, the famous rolling of his eyes when the neighbors would get together and tell ridiculous stories, summer evenings on the back porch, paying us to help clean, and his great laugh!! He was a wonderful man, neighbor, and father. So much love to you all.

So sorry to learn about your Dad´s passing. I remember how much he loved running and we would always see him out around the neighborhood. He had a great sense of humor and contagious smile. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Xoxo
