Leita Wright

I'm so sorry to hear this very sad news. I will always remember her gracious hospitality, and the many lovely meals and laughs we shared in Eugene and New York. My thoughts and heart are with you.

While conducting the Oregon Mozart Players (1991-97) in Eugene - I have fond memories of visiting with Leita and being her houseguest at her beautiful home in Eugene. The conversation and exchange with Leita was always interesting and illuminating. Rest in peace, gentle soul.

Leita's passing caught us off guard; we always thought she'd be with us since she aged so gracefully and retained her joie de vivre. Her refined tastes and skills in many arts - cuisine, weaving, pottery, doll-making were a delight to experience. We will miss her warm but mysterious presence at concerts and wine tastings. Deepest condolences to Kathryn, Virginia and grandsons.

What a marvelous person. Though I only knew Leita for a few years it felt like a friendship of a lifetime.
