Funeral services for Lela Fern Walker, 78, will be Friday, August 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the assistance of Callen Culwell, Dusty Dillon, Robert Roebuck, Jordan Pope, Ashton Pope, Brad Culwell and David LeBlanc.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Lela was born November 24, 1946 at McMillan, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Bonnie Dillingham Scott. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She married John William Walker, Jr. on November 11, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They celebrated 35 years together before his death on April 5, 2005.
Lela worked for Wal-Mart for many years.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Genia Culwell and husband Brad; son Dennis Walker and wife Tammy; her devoted partner Richard Lee Wilson Jr.; also his daughter Tammy; sister, Peggy Ann Scott McWhirter; brothers, Lee Scott and wife Helen and Wayne Scott and wife Sheila; her grandchildren, Dustin Dillon and Katie, Heather Pope and Jason, Callen Culwell, Taylor Leann Spooner and Holly Jo Hoggard; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlys Scott; and her fur babies Sissy and Jack. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; sister Lue Ella Scott Snellgrove; brother, Rusty Scott; grandson Bryce Culwell; and sister-in-law Bonnie Marie Scott.
