Mother Dickson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 14, 2010 at 8:50 a.m. after a short illness in Vallejo, Calif. She was 91 years young.

Mom, I think of you often and It makes me move forward in life because I know you wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for the examples you set before me.

I love mother Dickson. She was always so loving to me. I will never ever forget how much She was there for me. She planted the mustard seed that took me back to church and ultimately lead Maurcus Wells and myself onto a journey of spreading Jesus. That is the most loving priceless gift I have ever received. Rest in Heaven.

I never met Lena, but I did buy several of her quilts when I lived in Marinwood, Ca. when I worked at Bell Market in the mid 90's . She had a friend there that knew her, and he told me about her quilts. It was through him that I ordered them from her. The denim quilts, I gave to my two older grandsons and I have one that I have kept for myself, locked up in an old truck that I have. I haven't used it but I will I just got it out today, and looked up her name today. I found her. I am...
