LACY, Lena Ayvon
Lena Ayvon Lacy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was the youngest of three children to George and Lillian Knight Honeycutt.

Lena was born in Stigler, Oklahoma, on October 3, 1932 and eighteen years later, married Jim Lacy. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage before Jim lost his battle with congestive heart failure. Lena loved the outdoors and especially working in the yard.

Lena spent her final day at Sodalis Memory Care in Austin, Texas. She lost her long fought battle with Alzheimer's Disease on a cool Spring morning.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond Honeycutt and Leon Honeycutt; and grandson, James Robert Lacy. She is survived by her four children, Kathleen Cooley (David), Mickey Meincke (Howard), Ginny Falcon (Arturo), and Larry Lacy (Terri); six grandchildren, Holly Parker (Mike), Bobby Wiemann (Wendy), Lacy Smith (Zach), Austin Cooley (Robin), Garrett Lacy, and Tara Lacy Budde (August); 9 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain John Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be may be made in Lena's memory to the Darrell K. Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer's Disease, P.O. Box 5839, Austin, Texas, 78763 or your favorite charity.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Although I did not know Lena very well, but the times I did visit or speak with her on the phone over the years, I thought she was kind & thoughtful. My thoughts and prayers will be for Mickey's Mom and we will cherish our memories of her. She was always very nice to me and made me feel very welcome.
