Send FlowersMrs. Lena Lou Marshall, 83, of Roanoke, departed this life on Thursday, April 8, 2010. She is predeceased by her parents, Curtis and Hernitta Carter; two brothers; and three sisters; and a special aunt, Louella Brown. Those left to cherish memories are daughters, Marlene Marshall, Linda (Troy) Jones; sons, Joseph (JoAnne) Carter, George Warner, and Bishop Walter (Betty) Warner; sister, Vick Carter and Claude Carter; nine grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 12 noon at Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at Serenity Monday, 12 to 8 p.m. for viewing. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

My thoughts of Ms Marshall have always been on my mind, even after, when I used to work for Avante. I saw her everyday. I always loved Lena, she was such a loving, sweet, kind and a very beautiful lady to me. I was so hurt and so bothered reading about her passing. I will miss her so very much. I offer my deepest condolences to all of her family, and who she always spoke of George Warner, her son.
