Feb. 7, 1917- Mar. 5, 2015 Lenora E. Weakley, 98, of Huntsville, AL died March 5, 2015 at her home. Prior to moving to Huntsville, AL in 1998, Mrs. Weakley and her husband, C. Franklin Weakley, lived in Smyrna, TN. They were partners in Marable and Weakley Department Store for 26 years before retiring in 1978. Mrs. Weakley graduated from Tennessee College for Women in 1938, in Murfreesboro. She taught high school math, Latin, and English in both Murfreesboro and Smyrna. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Murfreesboro, Smyrna Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church Huntsville. Mrs. Weakley was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, her sister, Doranell E. Marable of Chapel Hill, TN and granddaughter, Martha Jo H. McCulloch of Fayetteville, TN. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Len W. Hamilton and husband, Joseph, of Fayetteville, TN; Libby Weakley Whisenant and husband, Jim, of Huntsville; grandchildren Melissa H. Bryant (Chris), Brett W. (Cathy) Whisenant, Matthew D. Whisenant, grandson-in-law Phil McCulloch; great-grandchildren Wheeler, Hannah, Mattie McCulloch, Ashlen and Grayson Bryant; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation in Huntsville will be Sunday, March 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1006 Westmoreland Avenue. Visitation in Murfreesboro, TN will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, March 9 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the graveside service following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The C. Franklin Weakley Endowed Scholarship, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN 37132. Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 615-893-5151.
