Lenore Klein Obituary

Lenore "Lee" Klein
May 29, 2022
Aventura, Florida - It is with great sadness that Lenore "Lee" Klein passed away on May 29, 2022. Predeceased by husband Norman Klein; parents Vera and Samuel Noble; sisters Eunice Dunne and Carol Bauman; and nephew Jeffrey Bauman. Lee is survived by her adoring daughter Mindy (Larry Gould); loving granddaughter Harley (Daniel Shunfenthal); nieces Irene (Paul Lazarus); Denise (Edward Smith); Cheryl Dunne; Laurie Bauman, nephews Steven Bauman and Dr. Richard Bauman, along with many great nieces and nephews.
Lee's calling in life was her dedication to children afflicted with dreaded cancer. In 1965, Lee co-founded the Deed Club, which transitioned into the Children's Cancer Caring Center, Inc., a total care pediatric oncology center where Lee served as President and Chairman. Lee never received any compensation for her years of endless love and devotion to the thousands of young patients
Lee received many awards and recognition over the years including the National Jefferson Award in the category of Greatest Public Service benefiting local communities; the President Volunteer Action Award presented in Washington, DC by then President George HW Bush; the Real Women Real Lives Spotlight Award; the Miracle Makers Award; Women Who Make A Difference Award; the Weizman Institute of Science's Women of Vision Award; WPLG's Heart of South Florida Award; Woman of the Year Award and was written into the Congressional Records in Washington
Of all of Lee's awards, what meant the most to her was to see "her kids" beat cancer and become successful healthy adults, many becoming parents themselves.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation for the Lee Klein Children's Cancer Center Fund at www.LiveLikeBella.org.
