Leo Helzel

Dear Helzel Family, I enjoyed very much working for Leo and Flo, and I sorry she is now gone but my hope is that she's reunited with Leo. Rest in eternity Leo and Flo. Tawmie

I had the great good fortune to join the staff of Dymo in mid-1962. What a breath of fresh air compared to my time at General Electric: a small company with an inborne excitement, inspired leadership, not at all "corporate", with an atmosphere of "We can do this." Suffice it to say Leo Helzel and Rudy Hurwich made that possible - I learned more at Dymo about the real world than I did at Berkeley!

Leo was my business school entrepreneurship professor in 1984 and inspired me ever since. He provided guidance and support throughout my career. I think that I worked harder because I didn't want to let him down. I would often see him for breakfast in New York on the front end of his hiking trips where sometimes he would introduce me to other former business school students so that we could help each other in our careers. He always had a kind word for my wife and good wishes for her...

Dearest Flo and Family, my deepest heart felt condolences for your loss. While I've known Leo only for a few short years, he was kind to me, a gentle soul, and a great since of humor. I'll miss him as I know all of you will.
Rest in peace Leo.
