Not sure what to say?

Kathy,
We were so saddened to learn of Leo's passing while reading the Fall 2017 issue of CEE Review. Our condolences to you and the family. Just reading the other entries, we can see he will be missed in many, many ways.

We have never met you we're sorry to say. Paul was Leo's CE classmate and graduated in 1965. During the summer of 1963 at Camp Davis, Paul and Leo became friends. Paul assisted Leo in his light weight concrete testing at Willow Run over the period 1963 to...

Kathy, I just now learned of Leo's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. My getting to know Leo through dance and Dance Focus was so much fun and so memorable! He was talented, playful, and generous beyond words. He would so enthusiastically take a elementary school stage in his red, high top tap shoes after just flying in from some business trip. He lit up when he performed and the kids loved him. We all did and still do. Peace to you in the coming days. Love, Connie Velin

Thinking about you today Kathy -- sending you good thoughts -- love & peace❤

I only met Leo by email and phone, while writing a story for U-M about Camp Davis. He was so kind, so helpful, so joyful when recalling his favorite moments from the late 1950s and 1960s at Camp Davis, and "being on my own and interacting with everyone at camp from all ages." Leo was certainly loved. I send heartfelt sympathy to Leo Legatski's family and friends.

I am so, so saddened by Leo's much-too-early death. He exhibited unparalleled generosity, kindness, humility, and integrity--qualities that are becoming quite rare in this world of ours. And, his enthusiasm and humor were infectious, whether while playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, enjoying and supporting the arts, or displaying his fancy footwork in tap dancing demonstrations for school kids. I feel privileged to have known him and mourn his loss.

Kathy,
My heart aches for you with the loss of your wonderful and adorable Leo.
Hugs,

Lola

I came to know Leo and his accomplishments through our activities in the American Concrete Institute. I quickly learned that he commanded great respect from his colleagues for his professional accomplishments. Then I learned he was an even better person. Rest in peace, Leo.

Leo: you will always be remembered. A great friend and a great person.

I was very saddened by Leo's passing, and valued his friendship. He was a long-time contributor at ACI meetings, and I appreciated his quick and insightful responsiveness to any questions or requests I had. Also enjoyed the ties back to our Alama Mater, U of M, even through the acquaintance of our fathers. I was grateful I had the opportunity to see him at the recent ACI meeting in Detroit. He was a fine man.
