Not sure what to say?

Mr. Mayfield was my Principal when I came as a student in 1948; and he was the Superintendent when I became a teacher at PCHS in 1960--later WOJH and Mayfield JH. His advice to me was always honest and right-on-target! At the time of our class' 50th reunion [1952], I told him he had my respect for over 50 years now. Our world has lost a true gentleman, but heaven is blessed with his presence. I'll always miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

My most sincere condolences to all of Mr. Mayfield's family.I was a student at Putnam City when he was the Principal. Mr. Mayfield was a dignified leader who inspired one to learn. He also demonstrated his strong Christain values via his behaviors and direction. I remember distinctly that we were not allowed to do "The Twist" at High School Sock Hops. I could only wish that these same standards for learning and living were in place today. What a very different society we would have now.

As a teacher at Mayfield Middle School, I express condolences to Mr. Mayfleid's family and will continue to honor his name through out commitment to this school.

My deepest condolences to the family of Leo Mayfield. He was my principal at the old Putnam City Original High School, when it was on N.W. 39th (Route 66 Hwy) He was a fine man with such character and intigrity. I am grateful for his influence on my life as a teenager. There is a saying: When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure Leo Mayfield, was not just a treasure to his family, but, to all that knew him. Heaven now has a "real gem" !

As a Mayfield Junior High and PCW ('94) alum, and now a PC teacher, I offer sincere condolences to Mr. Mayfield's family. - Lisa Hubert Beets

Mr Mayfield was such a kind and pleasant man. I had the privledge to be a part of a healthcare team for him for a while. He was so nice to talk to and even pretended to remember me. My class was so large!! PCHS Class of 67

My most sincere condolences to the family of a truly great man, Leo Mayfield. He was honest, sincere, and so very kind. He certainly made his mark on education and will always be known as "Mr. Putnam City". I once watched him go after one of the BAD GUYS he had caught fighting in school and he was just soooo cool. He will be missed but remembered always.
