Leo P. Noga

Funeral services celebrating the life of Leo Noga, age 83 of Glencoe were held at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 1, 2009 at the Church Of St. Pius X in Glencoe. Officiating was the Fr. Anthony Stubeda. The organist was Sister Elizabeth Gruenes. The song leader was Shari Templin. The music selections included “Here I Am Lord”, “The Lord Is My Shepherd”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Amazing Grace”, “Song Of Farewell” and “I Am The Bread Of Life”. Serving as casket bearers were Russell Noga, Trevor Noga, Jason Boyd, Scott Schroeder, Mike Lashinski and Jeffrey Kircher. Interment with military honors by VFW Post 5102 took place in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery. Visitation and parish prayer service was held Tuesday evening at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.

Leo Paul Noga was born the son of John J. and Pauline (Socinski) Noga on April 30, 1926 in Hale Township, rural Silver Lake. He attended school close to the family home. On November 29, 1945 Leo enlisted in the United States Navy. He served until his Honorable Discharge on October 3, 1947. Leo was united in marriage with Beverly Jean Ernst on June 5, 1948 at the Church Of St. George in Glencoe. This union was blessed with children Allan, Catherine and Lynn. The family lived in Glencoe and Leo had worked for Green Giant as a warehouse manager. Leo was a member of the Glencoe VFW Post 5102. He was a faithful member of the Church Of St. Pius X where he had once served as an usher. Leo enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and yard work. He loved socializing and cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

On Sunday June 28, 2009 Leo Noga entered his eternal rest at his home at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 28 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Ed Noga.

Leo is survived by his children Allan Noga (wife: Patricia) of Mohave, AZ, Catherine Boyd (husband: David) of Glencoe, Lynn Schroeder (husband: Harold) of Gibbon, MN; grandchildren Russell Noga (wife: Julie), Stefanie Noga (special friend: Mike), Trevor Noga (special friend: Melissa), Desiree Kircher (husband: Jeffrey), Jason Boyd (wife: Melissa), Jennifer Lashinski (husband: Michael), Julie Schroeder, Scott Schroeder (fiancé: Ann); great grandchildren Andrew Noga, Beverly Noga, T.J. Noga, Kayden Kircher, Owen Kircher, Dominic Boyd, Austin Boyd, Landin Las hinski, Hanna Schroeder; brothers Jack Noga, Ernest Noga (wife: Marilyn), Leonard Noga (wife: Gertrude), Irvin Noga (wife: Ida); as well as many other relatives and friends.

I am so soory to hear of Leo's passing. He was a good father, grandfather and great grandfather.
This part of the note goes out to Allan and Cathy. You have so many good memories of your father that you have told me about that I feel like I knew him. I do not know if you remember me but I sure remember working at Telex with you Cathy and sitting at the Happy Hour talking to you Allan all about life. You are all good people and I wish you all my symathy.
