Not sure what to say?

This is my third message but I think of Pastor Richter often. One of my daughters recently told me something that made me smile. When she was little and we went to church, she used to think that he was Jesus! lol He wore a robe and we were 'in church so I guess in a child's mind......Well, anyway, he certainly was "a good and faithful servant". Miss you, Pastor Richter!

I often think of Pastor Richter...... As I said in my previous entry, he was not only my Pastor...he was my friend. I know that I will see him again one day.

I met Pastor Richter in December 1999 where he was the interim pastor at Galilee Lutheran Church. After speaking with him just a few minutes, I felt like I had known him my whole life. He baptized my youngest son and I was never so moved. He will so be missed by me and my family. What a honor to have known him.

I met Pastor Leo Richter and his wife Maryellen when he came to serve as Interim Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran in Catonsville, MD, where I was the organist and choir director. He loved people and it showed. His sermons were instructive but always full of good humor. He could spin jokes on a moment's notice, and even when he wasn't joking, his eyes were happy.
He loved music and managed to sing in the choir as well as preach. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all of us who...

I adored Pastor Richter. As a Pastor, his messages were thought-provoking and informative, he always taught me something I didn't know before. As a boss he was terrific. He was appreciative of my work and allowed me to be creative. It would take this entire book to express my sentiments for a marvelous counselor, comforter and friend. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to know and love Leo Richter. He made a difference in this world.

We knew him but a short time and still he left a lasting impression on our hearts and minds. We thank him for his unwavering message of the Gospel, his friendship, his golf, and we thank our Lord for the gift of Pastor Richter's life intersecting with ours. We are sad to no longer have him with us here on earth, but we rejoice that he is with our Savior in heaven and that we will see him again one day. Our prayers of comfort are with Maryellen and the family.

I was so sorry to hear the news of the passing of Pastor Richter. I was a long time member (15 years) of Christ the King Lutheran Chuch when he was Pastor there. He officiated at my wedding and baptized 3 of my 4 children. I considered him more than a pastor -- he was a dear dear friend. I am very saddened that he is no longe here but look forward to talking to him again in heaven. My sympathies go out to Mary Ellen and the rest of the family--my prayers are with you. He was a...

What a great voice of the Scriptures, and one that will be sorely missed...Although "his" voice is temporarily silenced-"His" message(s) will continue thru eternity, based on Pastor Richter's life's work...May his soul rest in peace among the numbered....
