Leo W. Schrader

I was surprised and sadden to hear of the loss of Leo Schrader. We worked together when he was an assistant city attorney for the City of Clearwater; I hired him for that position. I remember him well as a good lawyer and, of greater importance, a good man. He was diligent, professional and unflappable. It was my pleasure to have met Leo as an adult in the summer of 2009. My dad had spoke often of them growing up in Joplin together. He seemed very kind and proud of his family and life accomplishments. My only regret is not having time to get to know him better. My condolences to all his friends and family.

I worked with Leo for many years in his capacity as Risk Manager for City of Clearwater. I vividly remember Leo as friendly, witty, energetic, professional, intelligent, intuitive, flexible, pragmatic, understanding and reasonable. I last saw and spoke with Leo in December 2009 (too long ago, my fault) at a colleague's retirement lunch in Clearwater.
