Not sure what to say?

Even though we only met a few times, we know Leo was a special person. His gift of gab and his sense of humor was apparent to everyone he met. May the love and support of family and friends help you through this time.

So sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers.

I had the privilege of meeting Leo in the mid-70s ... EIU...Thomas Hall. The "gang" at Thomas spent many hours listening to Leo's one-liners and sarcasm...yet, knowing if we needed a pair of ears, he was always there to listen. In recent years, social media and Thomas Hall reunions gave most of us a chance to reunite. We never missed a beat ... 38-40 years and we picked up right where we left off ... still enjoying Leo's antics! He could have shared a comedy club stage w/ Rodney Dangerfield,...

I lived next door to the Spains in Country Club Hills. It is such a small world, we became great friends when we realized that Leo's Dad Leo went to St. Sabina's with my mother.

They were just the best neighbors anyone could ask for. God Bless you Leo, RIP. My sympathy to Carrie, Daniel and Coleen. Just know what a good person Leo was. The family was loved by all.

I knew Leo from St. Emeric and he would come to Aurelios where I worked. He was a wonderful person. I’m so sorry Carrie and his children. A beautiful man, Rest In Peace.

Homewood Glugfest, 2016

Carrie, Danny and Colleen -- cousin Leo and I are just crushed to hear of Leo's passing. He was the most engaging and entertaining person we knew. Life is a bit dimmer knowing we will never hear a Leo Spain joke again or an Irish shanty. We're so glad for the times we spent with him and his beautiful family. We love you all. Mary Ann and Leo.

Very sorry to the sad news. Leo was fun to have known. He painted my house with Frank Walker when I lived in Homewood. Had some good time at the fifth quarter. He had a way of putting a smile on your face.

Leo was such a wonderful man with a great sense of humor, he always made Mickey & I laugh. Carrie, we are deeply sorry for your loss of such a great husband & a wonderful father. May peace be with you & are deepest sympathy.

Carrie, Colleen, and Danny:
I am deeply saddened and mournful to learn of Leo's passing
Leo was a truly delightful person, always full of humor and fun, he cared for each of you and sought to give to you a good fulfilling life. My condolences in this time of sorrow. Please keep in mind "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Most Sincerely, Joe Martin.
