Can't say enough great things about Leo - our ol' neighbor when we lived on Stanley Ct. Aside from all the oodles of interesting conversations we've had about buildings and architecture - we remember all the bbq's, the parties, the trips to farmer's market and Peets/Starbucks - we experienced Kauai for the first time ever, feeding the fishes and taking pictures underwater... and back home, going out to O'Connors and Seasons and Regions, going into different stores around Mult Village...we...

Leo was a superb representative of the public interest. I served on the Portland Design Commission from 1972-1979 and we worked closely with Leo during those years. His opinions and integrity were always respected by all of us.

Bev, I am so sorry to hear about Leo's death. I always enjoyed being around him. He was funny, interesting and talented. I still have and use his City of Portland apron. It will be a nice reminder of both him and you.

I worked with Leo in Salem at Carkin and Sherman, Architects, for several years. When Leo moved on to the Planning Bureau in Portland he and I worked together on a variety of historic preservation projects. I appreciated Leo's commitment to historic preservation and all that involved. His side shows to honor exceptional efforts in historic preservation in Portland were incredibly creative and elaborate and an exceptional educational effort.
