Leo Zimmerman Obituary
He was born May 20, 1969, in Woodstock, to the late Leo V. Zimmerman and Janice (Sommerville) Conley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1987 to 1996.
He was a dedicated and loving husband and father.
He was an avid lover of outdoor activities and spending time with his family and pets.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Stacey; two beautiful children, Jordan and Kaitlin; his caring parents, Eldon and Janice Conley; his sisters, Deb Thompson (Zimmerman) and Annette (Dan) Hammortree (Zimmerman); two stepsisters, Shelly (Larry) Zoellick (Conley) and Kelly Mingus (Conley); and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, brother, Larry Zimmerman and sister, Christine Zimmerman; and his grandparents, Leo and Lucille Zimmerman, Arthur and Lydia Sommerville and Ray and Florence Peterson.
The visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St., Union. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Thursday, Jan. 27, at the church. Interment will follow in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Mainstay Therapeutic Riding Program; the family or a charity of your choice.

I knew Leo through our work together while at the Woodstock Police Department. We used to tease each other about our military service, as he was a "Swabby" Navy guy and I, a "Jarhead" (Marine), even though he wore the high and tight hair cut....I'm very sorry for your loss, he was truely a good man and will be missed, my sincerce condolences to the whole family.

I had the pleasure of working with Leo at O'Malley and came to know him as a friend. He spent time sharing his industry expertise while training me.
