Dearest mom, I was just looking at so many pictures and already my nose is running and my tears are falling. I miss you so much, those blue eyes of yours, you're innocent smile, the cute way you use to say certain phrases in certain situations. It still hurts when it gets to this time of year, August, your birthday and then your time to leave us. We would have done anything to keep you one more day, but you were ready to go and watch and guide us from a better place.

Many of your family and friends have since followed. Your son-in-law Aldo, his mom Maria, just recently your neighbor Mrs. Bitow, Aunt Jean, now Aunt Helen.

Sometimes I wonder what it will be like to see you all again, but then I think about leaving behind all those that matter to me and worry that they'll struggle or lose...
