Leon Alexander Eckert

Gone but not forgotten

Leon was loved by all who knew him.
He was a loving husband, dedicated father, caring and fun grandfather
and loyal friend.
He worked very hard all his life, and always provided for his family
right up till the end.
Leon was a very humble and gracious man.
Even during the end of his life he was thanking everyone for just holding his hand or when someone asked how he was...

"Loving Thoughts From your
Daughter-in-law"

From the day I first met you, I loved you.
Your wonderful sense of humor and calm demeanor always impressed me. I still think you worked way too much, but you did what you had to do to provide for your family. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful husband. Thank you for everything you have done for us. You were always there through our most difficult times and our best times. I believe it was Will Rogers who said, "I never met a man I didn't like". In my father's case I never met a man who didn't like "HIM", which I think is a true testatment of the personality and character he possessed. He was loving, compassionate, understanding, level-headed and slow to anger. His vitues far out-weighed...

Leon, you were my brother-in-law, but more fitting to say is that in my daily world and life you were closer than a brother, and like a second dad to me.

I know I'm a better person for having been with you these 51 1/2 short years. I truly consider you a shining star in my life always and who passed it seems so quickly across my life now that you have gone to your "reward".

I'll always remember your quiet and
gentle ways. Your unwaving faithfulness at all...

To the Eckert Family
