Leon T. Fredrick, 84, passed away at home on February 5, 2026, with his family by his side. Born and raised in Chicopee, Leon was the son of the late Rita M. (Viens) and Leon A. Fredrick. He was educated in local schools, and worked as machinist at the former Package Machinery in East Longmeadow, and previously served as the union shop steward and vice president of the machinists' union. Leon enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature, especially hiking and fishing at Quabbin Reservoir. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (MacGregor) Fredrick, his daughters, Lynnann, Mary, and Lisa, step-sons Kevin Finnerty and his wife, Karin, and Michael Finnerty and his wife, Olga, his brother, Roger Fredrick, three grandchildren, Darell Finnerty and his wife, Alissa, and Michael and Stephanie Finnerty, his great-grandchildren, Hailey and Ryan, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Leon was also predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Fredrick, and two brothers, Frank and Paul Fredrick. There will be no services for Leon. Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA, has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
