Mr. Leon “Tightrope” Garror was born May 2, 1948 in Dallas county, AL. He is preceded in death by his Parents Green and Johnnie Sue Garror, Son Wykym Jowers, Five Brothers: John L., Ned, James, Theodus and Green Garror, Jr.; Three Sisters: Mossie Coltin, Theba Woody and Barbara Copeland.
He confessed Christ as his Savior and was a devoted member of Little Welcome Baptist Church. He served faithfully until his demise as an Usher, Bus Driver, Pastors Aid Member, Program Committee Member and Custodian. He was a graduate of Lillie B. Williamson High School in 1967, were he was the Starting Quarter Back. He received a Football Scholarship to Alcorn State University and received several awards, which lead to him being drafted into the NFL in 1971 to the Buffalo Bills and then traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 1973, before playing for Canadian Team and Retiring from his Football Career to open Two Businesses in Mobile, AL. He will be honored on September 1, 2017 at the Alcorn State University Sports Hall of Fame for his Record Breaking Football Accomplishments while attending the Alcorn State University.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories a devoted wife Clentonia Garror of Thirteen Years. Three Daughters: Shunda Garror, Candice Garror both of Houston, TX and Toika (Derrick) Mosley of Mobile, AL. Seven Grandchildren: Four Grandsons: Marquist, Sr., Antwaine, Roderick Garror and Ja’Corey Benjamin all of Houston, TX.; Three Granddaughters: Jade Shepherd, Nyla Mosley and Nylah Carter all of Mobile, AL.; One Great-Grandson Marquist Leon Garror, Jr., of Houston, TX.; Four Brothers: William (Doris) Garror, Rev. J.C. (Thelma) Garror, Marshall Garror all of Mobile, AL., and Jack (Barbar) Garror of Pocana, CA.; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, Nine Devoted Friends: James Jackson, Sam Lucky, Catherine Roberson, Cephus Johnson, Jr., Adrian Davis, Eric Price, Shawn Finkley, Joshua Roberts, Ingrid “Baby Girl” Hawthorne and The Little Welcome Church Family. Two Godsons: Cephus Johnson, III and Cedrick Johnson of Mobile, AL.; and Devoted Pets Zeba and Jumper Garror.
Interment Saturday June 24, 2017 at Catholic Cemetery 1700 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Avenue, Mobile, Alabama 36617.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the Garron family. I lived in the neighborhood and went to school with Leon at a very young age. I remember him as a good guy, and one of our star team football players RIH Leon. Praying for the family.
