Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of knowing Leon as a young person, high school and played a lot of sports against him. He was a very good athlete and a great person.

I miss you, my friend! We played so many rounds of golf together at Stonehenge and share many wonderful memories stories. I believe I had the distinction of being one of the few people who could make you laugh on the golf course even when things were not going well. One day after hitting the ball in the rough and looking for it for 5 minutes; we found it which he then hit it in a ditch. He threw he club!! We had to look for it longer than we did the ball- which I pointed out to Leon. My...

I met Leon through his father who was my first little league coach. As it turned out not only was he my second cousin, we were friends for over 75 years, teammates and coworkers. Leon's athletic abilities are legendary and I had the pleasure of playing with him and against him in basketball, baseball, football and softball. We shall never forget Leon! The family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Irene, I'm so sorry to hear of Leons passing. God bless you!

Grew up, like Mike, idolizing Leon for his atheltic abilities and accomplishments. ie All State basket ball, football, baseball. All of which never went to his head. I met Leon thru his father "Snooks" who was my first little league baseball coach with Kiwanis in Danville. The man had a lot of patience dealing with coaching a kid (me) who had never even batted or caught a baseball. My father had no interest in helping or teaching me. I'm greatful for having both Leon and his father in my life.

Leon was one of the best basketball players to ever bounce a ball on a HSC court and he was a great guy. Lots of good memories about him. Sad to hear about his passing. Bill Wilson HSC 1960

A legend of my youth! A profound influence in my life who leaves a legacy to never be forgotten!

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Leon. My father and stepmother lived in fairways villas across the street from him and Irene for many years. I was blessed to have met and known them as well and their basset hound Bodie. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family. DeAnn Cothran

Leon played a lot of fast-pitch softball with my deceased husband, Mac Taylor. Leon played third base and my husband played shortstop. Susan, who was a cute little girl, sat with me in the bleachers a lot. Leon was a great player and a great man! My prayers are with his family.
