Leon Neldon Kapp

Leon Neldon Kapp passed away in Ogden, Utah on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. He was born in South Weber to Harm and Pieterke Kapp and currently resided in Plain City. At the age of 27 he met and married Clara Jean Singelton. Their marriage was blessed with two wonderful sons. They were later divorced. Leon married Mary Stephens Merrill in April of 1981 and was the wonderful father that her sons never had. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. Leon worked at Hill Air Force Base as a fabricator. He was a fine craftsman. Everything he repaired or made was done perfectly. Leon enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Neldon (Jan) Kapp, Willard, Val (Diane) Kapp, Farr West, Mike (Valerie) Merrill, South Jordan, and Ken (Tina) Merrill, Hobbs, NM; brothers, Heber (Ardith) Kapp, LeRoy (Colleen) Kapp, and Jacob (Klea) Kapp; sisters, Barbara Robb and Berneil Voss; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death his parents and three brothers, Cecil, Marvin and George Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1 pm at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday from 11:30-12:30 am prior to the services. Interment will be held in the Willard Precinct Cemetery.
