Leon Kirk Sr., 77, passed away quietly Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at home.
Funeral: Noon Thursday in Thompson Chapel, United Methodist Church, 2804 Prospect Ave. Burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in Baker Funeral Home Chapel, with a wake 7 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Chapel, United Methodist Church.
Leon Kirk Sr. was born June 28, 1927, in Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Davey J. Kirk.
Survivors: Sons, Leon Kirk Jr. (Renita) of Houston, Kenneth O. Compton of California and Marvin L. Kirk; daughters, Kathey L. Kirk-Smith (Oliver), Karen J. Villars (Emmanuel), and Kristy H. Kirk-Jones (Early), all of Fort Worth; sister, Emily L. Wilson of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
