Leon was enlisted in the Army and stationed in Alaska for 3 years during the Korean conflict. He spoke often of the kindness shown to the soldiers by the Salvation Army during his stay.

Leon enjoyed cutting, splitting and stacking wood, tinkering on his 1954 Farmall tractor, taking road trips with his wife, going to car shows, riding a Harley, and spending as much time as possible with his family. One of his greatest achievements was being a member of AA and mentoring many people through his lifetime.

Not sure what to say?

I miss you so much already It's as if you've only stepped out. We were just talking last week about things we'd like to get done around the house. Miss hearing you laugh and disagree aloud with the news of the newspaper or tv and cheering the touchdown on Sundays. Whenever I had a problem I ask your opinion and whenever you weren't around I'd think "I wonder what Dad would do" You've taught me so many life lessons. Patience and understanding, leading by example, the importance of making...

Pat , I'm sure pete is in a better place and is pouring coffee right now with a smile on his face and hand held out welcoming someone.

I'm going to miss you answering the phone when I call and you would say "Hello Dear". Thank you for continuing to love me and still saying I was a daughter to you. So proud of calling you Dad for 39 years. My girls were so lucky to have you as their grandpa. I promise to continue checking on Mom and Phillip. Miss you so much already. Love you.

To Pat and family, Pete will be missed and remembered by us. He was a good man and friend. We were always happy to see you both. Extra prayers for you all.
