Not sure what to say?

To my Memphis cousins and families: I truly wish that I could be with you at this time. Your Dad was always so loving and helpful to me for all of my life. I will miss him greatly for the remainder of my life, and cherish him as a role model. I'm grateful to have had such an extraordinary man as my uncle. In addition to all of his professional accomplishments, Uncle Lonnie was also such a warm, mischievous and funny person. My first concrete memory of your Dad is from when I was 4 or 5. It...

It has been a please knowing Mr. Sheppard for the past three years. I work for the company founded by his late wife. I will miss seeing his smiling face he was truly an amazing man.

Sheppard family......Leon was a great neighbor & friend. His sense of humor was amazing. His generosity seemed to be endless. Sandy & I were blessed to know him. I will truly miss him.

YOUR DAD WAS MY MENTOR, AND ALSO MY FRIEND, HE ONCE INVITED ME TO HIS HOME AND TOLD ME I WAS THE FIRST REPRESENTATIVE HE HAS TAKEN HOME, WE THEN WENT TO HIS FAVORITE RESTURANT, A CHINSES RESTURANT, AND WE TALKED AND LAUGHED FOR HOURS. HE WAS A GREAT LEADER AND ALWAYS SUPPORTED WHAT WAS RIGHT.IT WAS A HONOR TO BE A FRIEND.GOD BE WITH YOU.

Rest in peace Brother Leon, and thank you for all you've done not only for Labor, but for all workers!

Lonnie and Sheppard Family,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I'm so glad we had a leader like him. We would not be where we are without his hard work.

To Lonnie and the Sheppard family, Leon was a special person who dedicated his life to the trade union movement and most especially the union members he so earnestly represented for decades.I'll always remember his sence of humor and the strong union family bond when gathered with his ole local union/International union buddies throughout the many, many years of service.

Leon Sheppard was a Great Labor Leader. He always was concern for the Working People of our Country. I am Proud and Honor to call Him My Friend, My Brother and Colleague. He was a Man of Great Character and will be missed by the Labor Movement. Retired Int'l Vice/President of UFCW.

Lonnie, Our deepest sympathy to you and your family in this time of sorrow and grief. Peace be with you.
