Leon Shkolnik

Although I was at D´Youville College for only a short time, I came to know Leon well. He was smart, helpful, engaging, and, above all, a good person. He will be missed. My condolences to Leon´s family and friends. M. Pikus

My condolences to Leon's family and friends. We got to know each other at D'Youville, when every semester he would do a presentation to my students on how to find articles in periodicals--this in the days before the Internet and databases. He was enthusiastic about what he did, and he did it well. I was always grateful when he was the one doing the instruction, because I knew the students would learn a lot and they'd be confident asking him for help. He was a blessing.

To have had Leon as a friend for over 65 years has truly been a blessing. From elementary school to high school through college then work and marriage we have always been in touch. We would bike together (and I busted his bike once), camp together, fish together, play ball together, sit and chat in his room and just move through life.
