Leon Walker, Sr. age 63, passed away January 26, 2015. He was a resident of Gary, Indiana for 48 years, formerly of Mercer, Tennessee.

Leon was a graduate of Gary Roosevelt High School Class of 1969, former employee of Gary Tube Works and LTI Trucking Contractor, member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and a Mason.

Preceded in death by parents Willie J. and Cleo Bessie Walker; grandchildren, Torin and Tyree Watkins.

Survived by loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Janice F. Walker; seven children, Tomika Watkins of Indianapolis; Christopher (April) McBride of Michigan; Janeen (Derrick, Sr.) Tarver; Curshana Sanders of Florida; Lena, Leon, Jr. and Toi (Aaron, Sr.) Miller; two brothers, Willie James and Johnny of Indianapolis; three sisters, Clara of St. Louis, Geraldine of Virginia and Christine of Milwaukee; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three aunts; three uncles and other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 9 a.m. until funeral begins.
Funeral service 11 a.m., February 6, 2015 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1095 Jackson Street, Gary, Indiana. Pastor Curtis Lee, officiating. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, Indiana.~
