Leona Lewis Stevenson Dansie
1929 ~ 2012
Herriman, Utah-With two great parents, Henry Leo and Laura Adams Lewis, I was sent to be #9 of 15 on November 11, 1929. We were poor but never lacking in the talents of creating. Together with Lauretta, Leo, Lea, Lester Glen, Weldon, Ronald, Lenna, Leon, Lola, Lamont, Lavere, Lavon, Lamona, and Lorna, we struggled but a love bond held us close.
Married on September 29, 1948 to Kenneth Odell Stevenson in the Logan Temple. After 18 years and four awesome children; Cheri, Mont, Kim and Joni, Odell was taken home. With faith, we survived and on July 10, 1976, Oren Robert Dansie took over our love and brought along five more wonderful children; Julia, Robb, Glen, Tom, and Martell. We had great joy in counting posterity of 141 grand and great-grand children (as of Aug 2012).
Next to love for family, church service has brought joy and satisfaction with missions in Canada, Indiana, LDS Employment Center, 9 years of temple service, 5 years as Relief Society President, and my 1 year as den mother. I found those small boys very lovable. My favorite was leading children's music. With so many experiences in my life until passing on December 24, 2012, I hope to hear a "well done".
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 am at Herriman 3rd Ward, 6719 W Valynn Dr. with a viewing one hour prior and Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S 2200 W, Riverton. Interment Holladay Memorial Cemetery. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

Not sure what to say?

When I heard about Grandma Leona passing early Christmas Eve morning, I put the cat rock she had painted for me as a child under the Christmas tree. I think she would like that. I'm saddened by her parting but know she's in a better place. My deepest sympathys to her daughters and the entire family.

I love and miss my dear grandma, I will always remember her sweet smile. She was such a wonderful lady and one day we will all see her again. May you rest in peace and sending love to the family.

We were saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She and Bob were very special friends and great examples to all that meet them. We will charish our memories of their time here in Logansport.
We loved you Leona.

Dear Cheri, Mont, Kim and Joni,
So sorry to hear of your darling mom's passing. I was saddened, but thinking about it brought back such sweet memories of our friendship while working at Arnold Machinery together. I loved her, and Bob, and rejoice in a Gospel that lets us know this life is not over, just a change of venue. What a great example she was, and still is, to me. Love to all of you. You will see your parents again. Be patient, be good, and 'be found' holding to the...
