Leonard BORGES Obituary
Leonard Azevedo Borges, 85, of Jupiter, FL, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Columbia, MD. He was Born in Tiverton, RI and spent the majority of his life in New Bedford, MA until moving to Florida in the late 1980s. He was the son of the late Anna Azavedo Borges. He is survived by brother, Richard A. Borges; nieces, Roberta and Rosemary Borges; nephew, Richard A. Borges, Jr., and multiple nieces and nephews through his late brother and sister-in-law, William and Lillian Hurley. He is also survived by many friends in Jupiter, FL. He was predeceased by infant sister, Anna; infant niece, Kathleen Borges and sister-in-law, Roselind N. Borges. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 26 at Ascension Catholic Church, 12700 Lanham Severn Rd., Bowie, MD from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. The Borges family would like to thank Harmony Hall for the wonderful and loving care. Donations may be made in his name to the ASPCA at, ASPCA P.O. Cousin Leonard was such a fantastic relative who loved his family, loved to laugh and was a joy to be around. He's happy in heaven with his beloved Mom and all the Figueiredos that were there to welcome him. Uncle Lenny was quite a colorful character. You have to love someone who isn't afraid of colors. My favorite was his red & white gingham suit. I wish to send my deepest sorrows to his wonderful family especially to Roberta who took such loving care of him here in Maryland and in Florida.

Lenny was one of the very first people to welcome me to "Camp Pinecrest" when I moved to Jupiter. I will always remember his kindness. I will miss seeing his big smile and him waiving from his convertible! RIP, Lenny. Condolences to the Borges family.
