Leonard Dell'Alba PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP Leonard Dell'Alba, 84, of Plainfield Township, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017. He was the husband of Patricia Gum Dell'Alba. Born in Wind Gap, PA, on Jan. 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Leonard and Anna (Sparrow) Dell'Alba. Leonard was a 1951 graduate of Pen Argyl High School and often reminisced about his playing days on the football team. He worked in the garment industry and was the former owner of Seasonal Fashions, Wind Gap. As a former private pilot, he enjoyed flying across the United States with his family. He loved landscaping his property, where he spent countless hours working with the help of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Sundays were always reserved for the family. He was a former president of the Pen Argyl Area School Board and a former supervisor of Plainfield Township. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Wind Gap, and St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, West Bangor, PA. His survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia Dell'Alba; his daughters, Karen Farino and her husband, Brad, of Bangor, and Lisa Wetherell and her husband, Jeff, of Nazareth; son, Leonard Dell'Alba of Plainfield Township, and David Dell'Alba and his wife, Brenda of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Anthony and Karla Farino, Natalie and David Wetherell, and Derek and Joseph Dell'Alba; great-grandchild, Dante Farino; his sister, Mary Capone (96) of Saylorsburg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Wessman, and Adele Torquati, and a brother, Joseph Dell'Alba. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 340 N. Lehigh Ave., Wind Gap. There will be a calling hour beginning at 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the church hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to St. Mary's Episcopal Church or St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, in care of the funeral home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl.
