Not sure what to say?

My favorite Math Professor ever. I had him for Calculus and then Advanced differential equations. He was an additional instructor after the original class had too many students. First class they offered students a chance to stay in the original class or switch to one he was teaching. Pretty much everyone who had him for Calculus immediately switched.

I recall he had awards at the end of terms. I got “most obnoxious way to point out instructor errors”

My favorite math professor in college.

Leonard Swanson was my math professor at PSU in 1993-94. I remember him as a very kind man and a great teacher. One amazing thing about him was that he got to know every single student's name the very first week of class. When I graduated and went to teach math at PCC, I used him as a model and learned every one of my student's names. It took me longer than a week, however, to learn all the names. Farshad Barman

I mostly remember George from Bob Harrow's farm and being there to play with his brother, Bill, who was a year behind me at Hillsboro High. My son, Chris, who attended Portland State, tells me George was a legend in the math department. I always remember the farm and childhood adventures there when I pass where it once was west of Hillsboro. George was a second cousin from my mother´s side of the family.

RIP George. It was a pleasure knowing you.
