Leonard Alfred Humphreys

Len And Sally lived across Elm Street from my family home in Lodi. They were such good people. I have maintained contact with Len and just found out when my MLK card was returned that he had passed. It is a great loss for us all.

When our mom, Gwin Mitchell, died in December 2020, we got a lovely letter from Len Humphreys. He recalled he and his wife Sally met Mom in the summer of 1970 and that the friendship has lasted through all these years. Mom treasured this friendship so very much. Reading his letter again, I am struck by what an intelligent, thoughtful and kind man he was. I met Len when I was a student at UOP. Because I was an older student (in my 40s), we would talk sometimes after class and became friends. (I later became friends with Sally also.) I admired him so much, both for his teaching and for the person he was. I am so grateful that our lives intersected and I will always carry very fond memories of him. My condolences to the family as you deal with this loss.
