Not sure what to say?

Dear Marilyn, we were just reminiscing about NY this morning and decided to google Leonard. What a shock to learn of his passing. Mary is very upset. She will be in touch. We have such warm memories of Leonard, his and your kindness and hospitality in New York in the 90s and your visits to Dublin which were so enjoyable. Leonard was such a warm, kind and loving man with a beautiful mind and soul who wore his learning so lightly. So regrettable that the tyranny of distance meant that we...

Dear Marilyn,
I was sad to learn of Leonard's passing and of Anna's. I have fond memories of spending time in your apartment in NYC and absorbing his art and gentle spirit through the atmosphere in your home. From time to time I think of your family and Leonard and would look at his art online and sadly today I learned of his passing. My sincere condolences Marilyn.

Best,
Maureen Beitler

To Marilyn and family,
I have such fond memories of Leonard as a father, husband, artist and teacher. My heart goes out to you all.

My heart is breaking to hear this news. What a wonderful tribute to such an amazing man. His art will always hang in my home and his loving memory in my heart. I will never forget our time together. Much love and prayers for comfort to Marilyn and family.

A great friend and classmate. I'm greatly humbled of what he accomplished.

Leonard Lehrer was my teacher at the Phila.
College of art in 1961 and had an emense
influence on me as a painter. Oddly enough much to my joy I was able to take a painting class at the University of TX. San Antonio while he
taught there. It was an honor to to be instructed
by such a gifted human being. He will be greatly missed my all that knew him.

From our days of art school at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art to Len's passing we have been lifelong friends. Len was brilliant and gifted to an exceptional degree. He was a matchless draftsman and a world renowned stone lithographer. Not only a brilliant artist, he could communicate art in his teaching and conversation. He also had a rare sense of humor which helped the both of us survive good times and bad. Rest peacefully dear friend and go gentle into that good night.

Several of Leonard's former students from his days at Arizona State University are planning to attend the Celebration of Life service on June 2. He left a deep impression on all of us, and we hope to honor his legacy through our art and commitment to beauty and humanity.
