Not sure what to say?

My late brother, Dan Tuttle, a RISD landscape architecture student in the early 80's, came to know and greatly admire Leonard. Thanks to their enduring friendship, I found myself spending a memorable afternoon with Leonard looking at art in Boston including a small exhibit of Julian Schnabel plate paintings. I am not an artist, but Leonard was so respectful of my thoughts and impressions and so generous, yet modest, in sharing his. That my memory of that lovely afternoon has persisted for 30...

While at RISD, Leonard was never my professor, my critic, or my professional advisor, but somehow he became my greatest teacher. His calming demeanor, measured observations when he glanced at the thoughts on my desk, and ability to look beyond the defined task broadened my view of our profession and taught me that design existed in the subtleness of life around us and, if we chose to, we could learn from everyone, and everything we came in contact with. Thank you, Leonard for being there...

I am very sore to hear of Leonards passing. He was my thesis advisor at RISD in 1997 and was a great influence in my thinking and my career overall. He was brilliant and witty, and was also a voice of reason and a calming force within the madness of late 90s RISD. I will forever remember him in this way.
My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Diego Ramírez-Lovering
