Honaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Slidell Obituary

Leonard Charles Roberts departed this earth on July 26, 2024, in Golden Meadow, La. He is survived by his wife Brenda Salazar Roberts, mother; Jaimee Hipps, younger sister; Samantha Hipps, elder brother; Frank Roberts, his grandmother; Belinda Liles, and many adoring family and friends.

He is lovingly known as “Lenny” to all whose hearts he continues to live in. He was born May 5, 1991, in Marrero, La., and called Pearlington, Miss., home, where roots were established and continue to grow fondly in his memory.

Lenny was a hard worker and could do anything he put his mind to. He went offshore on tugboats at the young age of 17 for Coastal Dredging Company and worked his way to the engineer’s position, leaving a lifelong impression with all those he left behind to carry his honor.

Lenny also had an artistic side very few knew about. His heart and passion could be seen in his work through the use of his favorite color red.

Lenny married his wife on July 2, 2022, who he thanked God for putting in his life: “She is my angel. She has not only saved my life, but she has also never given up on me, always by my side.”

Lenny was an amazing brother and friend, always smiling and laughing. He was a bright light in this challenging life, and his light was dimmed much too early. He will be missed by everyone.

Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home at 1751 Gause Blvd. West Slidell, La., on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 P.M, for all friends and family who wish to celebrate Lenny’s light and love.

Visitation at the funeral home on Friday after 12:00 P.M. until funeral time.

Following the services, family and friends will continue to celebrate his life at Thomas and Janet Dawson’s home in Pearlington, Miss.
