Not sure what to say?

Dear Smith Family,

We just learned of Dr. Smith's passing. He was remembered tonight at the Boston OB Society meeting where many fond comments were made. He was a special mentor, friend and teacher to both of us during our time as students and residents at Tufts/NEMC and greatly influenced our decision to pursue OB/GYN as a career. Dr. Smith will always occupy a special place in our hearts. Please know that he was such a great inspiration to so many of us.

Your father was a wonderful friend and Doctor to me. He delivered all of my sons here on the cape and when he went back to St Margaret's in Dorchester, I continued to go up (to his surprise) until his retirement. I knew your mom as well and remember them both with fondness. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go to all the Smiths.

Sheila,
I am so sorry for your lose. Your father seemed to be an amazing man whose family was very important to him. I am sure he was very proud of you. May memories of him find some peace for you.

With much sympathy,
Sue LeRoy

Dr. Smith was a great Doctor for so many reasons. He was kind and compassionate to his patients and was a mentor to the many generations of residents who began their careers in the Tufts residency program. I hope that at this sad time you find peace in the memories of his life and all lives that he touched .

So many of us from St. Margaret's and Tufts New England Medical Center were blessed to have known and worked with Dr. Smith. The thousands of babies he brought into the world did not know how lucky their moms were to have had him as their obstetrician! God Bless, Len!

I was fortunate to have worked side by side with Dr. Smith in Labor & Delivery at St. Margaret's and Tufts. He was a wonderful teacher, always kind, the epitome of a gentleman. And most importantly a warm and caring bedside manner with every patient...a true gift. God bless Dr. Smith.
