WHITEHEAD LEONARD LEROY WHITEHEAD (Age 91) On Wednesday, April 8, 2009 of Arlington, VA. Beloved husband of 64 years of Hazel Shadix Whitehead. Loving father of Bobbie Lynn Hill and Gary Whitehead (June); grandfather of Amy Marie Barnes; great-grandfather of Scott, Zachary and Joshua. Family will be receiving friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME OF ARLINGTON, 4510 Wilson Blvd. on Friday, April 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1328 16th St., NW, Washington, DC 20036 (North of Scott Circle) on Tuesday, April 14 at 1 p.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery, 11 a.m., Monday, June 8 with friends and family gathering at the Administration Building at 10:30 a.m. Contributions may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church.

Dear Mrs. Whitehead, Bobbie and Gary, Please accept my deepest sympathy over the passing of your husband and father. I remember the times during the Wakefield High School years when I would visit with Mr. Whitehead and you....such a nice, kind-hearted soul.
