Leone H. Grey

Leone H. Grey, age 103, of Sibley, Iowa, mother of Gilbert Petersen, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Memorial Services will be Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sibley. Pastor Jim Berka officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 10, at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. for public viewing at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Leone H. Grey was born on October 21, 1907, in Remsen, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lewis and Minnie (Postel) Hanno. She moved to Kimball, South Dakota, where she attended school. She married Donald Petersen of rural Mitchell, South Dakota in 1926. They later divorced. She married Edward Grey of Bigelow, Minnesota, in 1946. They lived in Sibley, Iowa. Edward passed away in 1968. Leone was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sibley, for many years. She was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed picnics, planting flowers and baking angel food cakes for the grandkids birthdays. Her family was the most important part of her life. Leone passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Those left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law: Gilbert and Shirley Petersen of Sibley, IA; four grandchildren: Larry and wife Pam Petersen of Watertown, SD, Loren Petersen of Sibley, IA, Laureen and husband Pat McCarty of Sheldon, IA, Kathy and husband Larry Ernst of Somerville, SC; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents, three sisters and two brothers. In Loving Memory Of Leone H.
