Not sure what to say?

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Esch and family, I wish to express my deepest sympathy to you on Leo's passing. He and I worked together at JC Penney at Briarwood Mall and remained friends after he no longer worked there. While it may not have been appropriate, another JC Penney friend and I would stop and see Leo on nights that he was working for a cable company. This would have been on the 26th floor of the apartment building on Maynard Street, and he ensured there were no programming glitches. We...

Dear Aunt Olgie, Uncle Marvin, Emily and Tommy--I am so sorry and saddened about your loss. Leo is in a better place where he doesn't feel pain anymore and is surrounded by God's and family's love. I am especially thankful for having gotten to know Leo the past few years on our reunion trips to Vegas. Before that, I had vague recollections from childhood, but I think I really came to know Leo as a person only recently. A more thoughtful and caring person could not be found. He was happy,...

Dear Aunt Ogie, Uncle Marvin, Emily and Tom...am so grateful to have visited a short time with Leo
while in the hospital after not seeing him for years. I realized what a special and kind person he
was, and in the midst of his suffering he was able to visit and laugh...he will be missed and remembered by many for his "pureness of heart". Love you all!

If there ever was anyone that made you feel good it was Leo. He always was so glad to see you and find out how you were doing. I have fond memories of Leo coming to visit his Arizona cousins. We had so much fun swimming, playing cards and most of all laughing. Years could pass by but when I would see Leo you could feel the care and concern. He was always genuinely interested in your life and sharing a part of himself. He was a wonderful cousin and loved by all of us. I am sorry I could not be...

Leo and I became buddies in Las Vegas. Leo and I sat for hours at the slot machines while the rest of the group wandered. We always had such a great time talking about all kinds of things and laughing. We were always waiting for the cocktail waitress and we discovered that when she finally arrived saying "cocktails" we would hit the jackpot. Over the years every time we saw each other we would both say "cocktails" and laugh. He taught me all about sports in the United States. Over the years...

It is with heavy hearts that we pay respect to our cousin Leo. A nicer individual would be impossible to find. He was a true mensh with noble characteristics which were apparent in his personal attributes. Our sympathy goes out to the family, Uncle Marvin, Aunt Olga, and cousins Thomas and Emily Susan. Leo would know the secret of death for he sought it in the heart of life. He may be gone from our sight, and not in plain view, but he will be welcomed with open arms by those who have waited...
